Monitoring and Evaluation is a useful tool in understanding and evaluating crisis as well as generating standards to avert or reduce the occurrence of crisis on the community. It will also involve collation, sharing and managing real-time information at all levels of the society. In addition, it provides basis for impact assessment in the future. The challenges associated with crisis will be tracked on the basis of data available and thereby provide a foundation for evaluation and learning. Evaluation is made through a systematic and objective assessment of the problem. The aim is to come up with preventive measures to aid in decision making by improving efficiency and effectiveness in disaster risk reduction.
