The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has emphatically charged troops of Operation Delta Safe to maintain unwavering loyalty and commitment to the security and stability of the nation. Addressing the troops during the Eid El-Kabir luncheon celebration at the Port Harcourt barracks, General Musa also cautioned them against being exploited by adversaries seeking to destabilize the nation’s progress.
General Musa conveyed the commendation and appreciation of President Bola Tinubu to the troops, highlighting the vital importance of their dedication and loyalty to the nation’s security efforts. He urged the troops to stay resilient and avoid becoming tools in the hands of those aiming to undermine the country’s economic and security frameworks.
“You are the vanguards of our nation’s security,” General Musa asserted. “Your role is to provide solutions, not to become part of the problems. Your dedication, sacrifices, and hard work, especially on this special day of celebration, do not go unnoticed.”
The CDS praised the significant progress made by the military despite the challenging operational terrain, which often obscures the true extent of the troops’ experiences from public view. He stressed the crucial role of Operation Delta Safe in protecting national assets, maintaining regional stability, and fostering economic growth.
“Operation Delta Safe plays a vital role in safeguarding our national assets,” General Musa continued. “Your unwavering vigilance and professionalism in combating criminal elements, oil thieves, and other security threats are truly commendable. Your efforts are critical in maintaining stability and promoting economic growth in the region.”
General Musa highlighted the military’s success in the fight against economic sabotage, noting the considerable increase in oil production, with the target of reaching two million barrels per day becoming more attainable. He pledged to eliminate any collusion between military personnel and economic saboteurs, promising swift and severe punishment for any offenders.
“We are gaining the upper hand in the fight against economic sabotage,” he said. “Our oil production has significantly increased, and we are determined to reach our goal of two million barrels per day. Any personnel found colluding with saboteurs will face severe consequences.”
Earlier, the Commander of the Joint Task Force, South-South, overseeing Operation Delta Safe, Admiral John Okeke, reported on the operation’s substantial achievements. He noted the successes in both kinetic and non-kinetic operations, which have significantly shaped the operational environment and yielded notable results.
“Operation Delta Safe has made major strides in our anti-economic sabotage campaign,” Admiral Okeke stated. “We have achieved significant milestones in our operations, greatly impacting the operational environment and delivering notable successes.”
General Musa’s visit and address serve to reinforce the critical role of the troops in ensuring national security and economic stability, emphasizing the importance of their loyalty, dedication, and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s interests.
